Near Made, there is much to experience in various areas. You can for instance explore the surroundings on a bicycle, visit the 'Madese wijngaard' or take a boat trip through the Biesbosch. The city of Breda is close by, and offers much entertainment, such as the Holland Casino Breda, where you have free admittance because you are our guest.

All six villages in the district of Drimmelen organise various concerts and music festivals. There are also the Harbour festivities of Zwaluwe and the Flag days in Drimmelen at the start of the water sports season, the Midsummer feasts in June in Terheijden, and the Yearly Market in August in Wagenberg.

A peat barge regatta is held on the river de Mark every summer, and the annual Steprace Rotterdam-Den Hout goes through Zwaluwe and Made. An educational annual attraction is the Open Greenhouse Day in June in the greenhouse area of Made. Every year in August there is a (combined) Kitefest and Ferryday around the harbour and the Kleine Schans in Terheijden.

The district of Drimmelen has a beautiful landscape park called Natuur- en landschapspark Wagenberg, which houses numerous plants and animal species. The contours of the lake offer day recreation options such as fishing, picnicking, cycling and walking. There is no swimming in this lake.
